HEARTBEATZ

A low-to-moderate intensity group exercise programme suitable for anyone who hasn’t exercised before or for a long time. It is a specifically designed programme for people to exercise safely if they have heart disease or any of the risk factors for heart disease, including diabetes. A HEARTBEATZ class is a great way to start a gentle exercise programme in a friendly atmosphere and at your own pace.

HEARTBEATZ is a 45 minute land based class.

Cost: Included in membership or $9.00 per class.

WHO WILL BE RUNNING THE CLASS?

HEARTBEATZ classes are run by accredited Fitness Leaders specifically trained in managing low to moderate exercise programmes.

WHO WOULD SUIT A HEARTBEATZ CLASS?

HEARTBEATZ is suitable for people, who are concerned about exercising, have high blood pressure, are overweight, have diabetes, have a heart condition, who have had heart surgery, have high cholesterol or  want to continue exercising  after rehabilitation.

WHAT DO I NEED TO BRING?

Wear appropriate footwear and clothing e.g. a pair of shorts / track pants, t-shirt and joggers. Bring a towel and a water bottle. Make sure you have had a light lunch at least 2 hours beforehand.

IS THERE ANYTHING EXTRA, I WILL NEED TO KNOW BEFORE GETTING STARTED?

Yes, You must fill in a HEARTBEATZ Pre-Activity Questionnaire Form, before attending your first class. You will probably have to get your doctor’s approval to participate in this programme.
